About BachataOn1
BachataOn1 didn't start as a product.
It started as a frustration.
Like many beginners, we struggled to dance on time. Especially with modern and fusion bachata, full of breaks, pauses, and unexpected changes… and with Dominican bachata, where rhythmic patterns can be tricky to follow.
There was plenty of theory.
Videos explaining counts, structure, musicality…
But something was missing:
a real way to train your ear with the songs we actually dance to every week at socials.
The turning point
We started doing something simple:
manually marking the «1» in YouTube videos and practicing with them.
And it worked.
But then a more uncomfortable question appeared:
what if I'm marking it wrong?
What if instead of improving, I'm just reinforcing bad habits?
That's when we realized something was missing.
From personal tool to project
For this to really work, we needed real validation.
We needed experienced dancers —and musicians— to mark those videos.
That's how the idea evolved:
- Connect experts and beginners
- Turn learning into real practice
- Provide immediate feedback
- And add a layer of gamification to keep people coming back
